And for those that didn’t win, be not dismayed, there will be many more chances this year.

Anti-Hoarding Giveaway!!!

Written using black, blue and red Sharpie pens.

Since I ended 2010 by reorganizing my office and other parts of my house, I want to do as much as possible to keep it organized. Having too many of one kind of pen where your drawers overflow is not a good way to do that. Plus, with the amount of other pens that I have, it would take me a very long to time to use all of these pens. Before I would, I’m sure I would be on to others. So, I wanted to “share the wealth” so to speak (it was only $2 a pack and buy one get one free) and have these pens be used by people that I know would be happy to use them now. Rules and pics below.

How to winning!

Leave a comment on this post anytime between now and Sunday (01.16.2011) 11:59 pm (PST) telling everyone how many pens/pencils you proudly carry with you on a daily basis. (This way the comments aren’t all “Me, me ,me! Pick ME!!!!) One entry per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified. (Which means only your first comment will count) On Monday morning (01.17.2011) I will start up the True Random Number Generator over at Random.org and let it choose four winners. One pack of Sharpie Pens (Black, Blue, & Red) will go to each of the winners that send me an email (john[at]pencilwrap.com) with their shipping address after their names have been posted. If winners do not reply by Friday (01.21.2011) I will randomify more numbers and wait for them to reply every week (on Fridays) until the pens leave my office.

I ship worldwide so basically this giveaway is open to the planet. (Get on this Mauritius, I’ll ship to you again. I’m not afraid.)

Thank you for participating and good luck!

[ BTW,  my answer is 24; 19 in my pencil wrap, 5 in my briefcase. ]

4 packs = 4 winners!

Winner: Moleskine Special Edition Giveaway

I wanted to post this earlier from home but I don’t know if SkyNet is starting to become self-aware or what but at home and at work the internet is just super slow. Anyway, here is the winner of the Peanuts Moleskine Special Edition as picked by the Random Number Generator at random.org.

As per the rules stated in the contest, going by the order in which comments were received, Halden is the winner at number 28! Congratulations Halden. Email me (john@pencilwrap.com) within a week with  your shipping info and I’ll send you your new notebook. If you don’t, I will have to pick another winner next Friday. (Don’t think that I won’t. I’ll do it.) We had fun doing this and I know there will be more in the near future.

Thank you again to everyone who stopped by, entered, reposted, tweeted, and took some time to read Pencilwrap.com.

Moleskine Special Editions Part2 (+Giveaway!!)

Well, I have finally received all of the special edition Moleskines that I ordered (and then some but we’ll get to that soon enough). I have taken many pics and am pretty happy with what they did to them even though I feel that they could have done a little more. The only special edition embellishments to the journals seem to be on the cover, the inside front cover and the very back of each journal. (See pics) Along with that they threw in some stickers. Other than that, the journal is identical to any other Moleskine journal. I feel as though they should have added stuff to every page of the journal. Maybe they could have added a different character on the bottom corner of every page or the like. Perhaps Snoopy’s doghouse on each page or something. Anything to have made the rest of the journal feel “special” would have been nice. They did more on the Peanuts versions by adding the “Peanuts Family Tree” diagram on the back cover. (The heart drawn in for the “little red-haired girl” as Chuck’s crush is funny).
Both versions come with stickers and you get the same stickers no matter the size you buy. The special editions only come in either lined or blank pages and there is a different cover for each. There are four covers total for each. (large blank, large lined, pocket lined, pocket blank) The yellow Pac-Man pocket-sized that I got has blank pages, the rest are lined.
As with standard Moleskine notebooks, they are made in China and that sometimes adds quality issues. I took a pic with the large Pac-Man and Peanuts notebooks next to each other so you could see how the binding differed. Note the extra glue on the Pac-Man notebook and how the paper is tight right up against the spine. It actually opens a little flatter than the Peanuts notebook.

Peanuts notebook on top.

OK, now getting to that “and then some” part of this post. This is my first official giveaway. Or as Notebooker puts it, my “cheap ploy for new readers”. In my case, not so cheap since I did somehow order an extra copy of the large Peanuts ruled notebook. So, see proof in the pic below that you will be entering to win a sealed copy of the large Peanuts 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Ruled Notebook. Here are the rules:

Giveaway Rules:

1. Leave one comment on this post anytime between now, and Thursday night, December 2nd at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. You are limited to one entry. Tell everyone and everyone. (yes I typed that on purpose)

2. I will pick one winner at random from the comments section of this post. The comments will be numbered in the order they are received, i.e. the first comment is #1, the second #2, and so on. The Random Integer Generator at random.org will be used to pick the number of the winner.

3.The contest winner will be posted on Friday, December 3rd. The winner will have one week to email me with their shipping info at john@pencilwrap.com. If the winner does not e-mail me within a week, I will have the Random Generator pick another number and that person will have a week to contact me, and so on and so forth until either someone claims the thing or I run out of numbers.

I will ship internationally. That was the everyone part of the message above. Please note that comments are moderated so your comment will not show up automatically. Remember, only one comment per person qualifies.

Random Winner will receive the sealed notebook pictured here.

Well, good luck everyone and enjoy the pics below.
